Thinking about waxing your eyebrows? Many women find it the quickest and easiest method to work with when shaping their eyebrows and wanting to get rid of that bushy look. But there are a few things you should know before you go out and purchase your waxing kit because it is not a good pick for all women. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to blotchiness or welts you may want to re-think your choices.
If you are set on the idea then follow these eyebrow waxing tips to make it the easiest process you can.
1. You need to warm up the wax first. Make sure you have a small spatula to use and nothing that is too big or hard to shape. You will need to apply the wax with the hair growth which is under the brows. Make sure you glide your spatula with the wax in the same direction that the hair grows in. Don’t use overly too much (you don’t want it glopping off the spatula or anything) and make sure that you don’t let the wax dry.
2. If you find it easier to apply the wax in small patches, this is ok as long as they overlap each other so you can remove it all in one strip. Some people find this easier than having to worry about wax dripping all over the place as they try to apply it all in one quick stroke along the brow line.
3. Once it has all been applied to the brow where you want to hair removed, let it set for a little while, them grab an end of the wax and remove against the hair growth while holding onto the tip of your skin above and below the area with your other hand.
You should never try waxing above the eyebrow. Waxing from under the brow allows you to better shape your brows and create a more widened and even look. This also helps you to take off years from your appearance and can even make you look more glamorous. If you place a piece of cotton muslin over the wax before striping it off it will allow you to have a better grip and an even removal.
Most beauticians and beauty professionals will not recommend that you do this procedure yourself at home. If you cannot afford to go to a salon for a professional treatment, be sure to ask a friend or loved one to help you. Wax can be very dangerous if getting into your eye or anywhere else that could burn or be damaged. While this is a relatively quick procedure compared to some other forms of eyebrow hair removal, it can be a nightmare if someone who does not know what they are doing decides to try it without help. This procedure normally takes specific training and years of experience to really get the hang of it.
Another good reason it is best to go to a professional is due to their training, if they find you do have sensitive skin or allergies you never knew before, they have been trained on what to do to help.
